Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Holiday DNA ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and travel-matching service (the "Service"). We are a UK-based service operating under the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
1. Who we are
Holiday DNA is operated by Jarry Ltd. For questions about this policy or your data, contact us at info@theproductconsultant.co.uk.
2. What information we collect
Information you provide directly
- Trip planning details: who's travelling (names, ages), trip length, travel dates, and your answers during the conversational interview.
- Contact information: if you choose to email yourself a report, we collect the email address you provide for that purpose only.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited, collected via standard web analytics.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 6 below. We only set non-essential cookies after you've given consent via our cookie banner.
Information stored locally on your device
Your trip details and interview answers are stored in your browser's local storage so the Service can function across the session. This data stays on your device and is not automatically synced to our servers beyond what's needed to generate your report.
3. How we use your information
- Run the conversational interview and generate your personalised Holiday DNA report
- Improve and troubleshoot the Service
- Send you your report by email, if you request it
- Measure site usage and performance (only with your consent, where required)
- Attribute bookings made through affiliate partner links (only with your consent — see Section 6)
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. How AI is used in this Service
When you use the interview feature, your answers (including names, ages, and trip preferences) are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI models via API to generate conversational responses and your personalised report. Anthropic processes this data under its own API terms and privacy commitments; you can review these at anthropic.com/privacy.
We do not use your personal answers to train our own AI models, and we are not aware of Anthropic using API data to train their models under standard API terms.
5. Third parties we share data with

|---|---|---|
| Anthropic (Claude API) | Powers the conversational interview and report generation | Your interview answers, names, ages, trip details |
| Supabase | Database hosting for itinerary, hotel, and activity data | Itinerary data; not your personal interview answers |
| Google (Maps/Places API) | Hotel/location search and map display | Location queries; no personal data shared |
| Pexels | Sources destination photography | No personal data shared |

| Google Analytics | Site usage analytics | Anonymised/aggregated usage data, only with your consent |
6. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for:
- Strictly necessary purposes (e.g. remembering your cookie consent choice) — these don't require consent.
- Analytics — helps us understand how the Service is used. Requires your consent.
- Affiliate tracking — attributes bookings from partner links to us. Requires your consent.
- Advertising — serves and measures ads. Requires your consent.
You can accept or reject non-essential cookies via the banner shown on your first visit, and change your choice at any time via the Cookie Settings link in the footer of every page.
7. Data retention
- Interview answers and report data in your browser's local storage remain there until you clear your browser data or start a new session.
- Email addresses provided to receive a report are retained only as long as necessary to send it, then deleted.
- Aggregated, anonymised analytics data may be retained longer for service improvement purposes.
8. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent at any time via cookie settings
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@theproductconsultant.co.uk.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed at children. Trip-planning answers may reference children travelling as part of a family group (e.g. names and ages entered by a parent or guardian for itinerary personalisation). We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children.
10. International data transfers
Some of our service providers (including Anthropic and Google) may process data outside the UK/EEA, including in the United States. Where this occurs, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses as implemented by those providers.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when changes are made. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
